Hchcares in New Castle, IN is seeking experienced bedside nurses or new graduates for the Progressive Care unit, with mentorship during your introduction to the unit. Adult hospitalists provide 24/7 coverage and support to our nursing team, with strong surgical support for orthopedic and general surgery.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and Indiana RN licensure.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of pathophysiology, nursing process and pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing personnel activities daily and participates in the delivery of general nursing duties.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order.
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients.
• Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress.
• Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.
