HCHCARES in New Castle, IN, is seeking bedside nurses for our Progressive Care unit, including new graduates who will be mentored during orientation. This team provides 24/7 hospitalist coverage and strong surgical support for orthopedic and general surgery patients.

Qualifications

• Pathophysiology knowledge and nursing process.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and Indiana RN licensure.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing personnel activities daily and participates in the delivery of general nursing duties.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order.
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients.
• Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress.
• Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.

Overview

If you like caring for medical and surgical patients, our Progressive Care unit is looking for experienced bedside nurses or new graduates who will be mentored during their introduction to our unit. Adult hospitalists provide excellent 24/7 coverage and support to our nursing team. We have strong surgical support for orthopedic and general surgery which provides to the majority of our inpatient surgery patients. • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required
• Work requires the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
• BLS certification

- Full-Time Weekend Option - Saturday/Sunday - 7A-7:30P - Works one additional 12 hour shift every 2 weeks - Holiday rotation
