Job summary

Henry Community Health in Indiana is seeking an experienced ICU nurse to join our team. You will work in a collaborative environment with adult hospitalists providing 24/7 support and treating patients like family.

The role includes supervising nursing activities, administering medications, monitoring patients, and participating in education and patient satisfaction initiatives. Full-time, three 12-hour shifts with every 4th weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of pathophysiology, nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, and management of patients and personnel.
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
  • BLS certification required.

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments following procedures and physician orders.
  • Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, notifies supervisor or physician of conditions.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations.
  • Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations and determine progress.
  • Oversees personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed staff, patient placement, and patient/family education.

Overview

If you like caring for critically ill patients our Intensive Care Unit has opening for experienced nurses. Our nurses work as a team and treat each other and our patients like family. Adult hospitalists provide excellent 24/7 coverage and support to our nursing team. We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits and flexibility.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises nursing personnel activities daily and participates in the delivery of general nursing duties.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order.
  • Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients.
  • Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress.
  • Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Work requires a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnel
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required
  • Work requires the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
  • BLS certification
