Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) specializing in Stroke & Brain care. This role guarantees 48 hours per week and requires a start date of December 14 for a 13-week assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer cardiac drips and monitor telemetry.
• Provide specialized care for neurology and stroke patients.
• Utilize advanced skills in cardiac drips and basic dysrhythmia management.
• Document patient care using the Meditech system.

Required Skills and Certifications

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience with cardiac drips and telemetry.
• Proven stroke care experience.

Unit Specifications

• Number of Beds: 16
• Patient Ratios: 4:1
• Staffing: Supported by unit secretaries and techs
• Equipment: Includes Welch Allyn VS Machines, Hoyer lift, Sarah Steady Lift, Telemetry, Bladder Scanner, Doppler
• Scheduling: 3 shifts per week, including 3-4 weekend shifts
• Floating Policy: Staff may float to any area where competency is demonstrated

Hospital Certifications
