Equiliem is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our neurosurgical unit in Rochester, NY. You will care for patients undergoing brain tumor, spine, neuroendovascular, and epilepsy surgery, in a mixed-acuity setting with floor and high-acuity step-down care.

Ideal candidates have stepdown/PCU experience, BLS, telemetry, NIHSS, and NY RN licensure with a minimum of two years in acute neurosurgical or stroke care; ACLS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have stepdown/PCU experience.
• BLS (American Heart Association only).
• High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required.
• Telemetry experience required.
• RN license (NY).
• Two years of experience.
• NIHSS required.
• ACLS is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a neurosurgical unit.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for brain tumor, spine, neuroendovascular and epilepsy procedures.
• Monitor neurovascular status and manage neurological equipment.
• Refer to protocol-driven care for high-acuity patients.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our neurosurgical unit. This role offers extraordinary opportunities to care for a diverse patient population. You will work with multidisciplinary teams specializing in brain tumors, spinal malformations, neuroendovascular, and epilepsy surgery.

This is a mixed-acuity unit with both floor-level and an 8-bed high-acuity step-down unit for patients with more complex needs who require hemodynamic and neurological monitoring. Ideal candidates will have experience with:

• Q1 neuro checks
• EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains
• 3% NS, Cardene drips
• Arterial lines
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Aneurysm coiling/clips
• DBS Insertion (Deep Brain Stimulator)
• VP shunts
• Seizure management

Requirements

• MUST HAVE STEPDOWN EXPERIENCE/PCU EXPERIENCE
• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
• High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
• Telemetry Experience Required
• RN License (NY License ONLY)
• Two (2) Years Experience
• NIHSS REQUIRED

ACLS is highly desired.
