Description:This is a travel RN position in the Progressive Care Unit.The unit has 24 beds and a supportive team environment.The staffing includes a Day Shift Charge, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs.Night shift will have a Charge, 4-5 RNs, and 2 PCTs.The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1.Key equipment includes telemonitoring and post-operative monitoring.The EMR system used is Meditech/CPN.
Typical responsibilities include:Post-operative recovery of surgical and cath lab patients.Care for post-operative orthopedic patients (spine, joint).

This is a brand new, state-of-the-art unit with innovative equipment.The unit features ADA/Bari rooms and Hoyer lifts.The staff has a wide range of nursing experience.Patient populations include elective orthopedic, spine, GYN surgeries, and elective cath lab procedures.Patients may also present with stroke, CIWA, chest pain, renal failure, and respiratory failure.Protocols include set rates for cardiac drips that are non-titrating except for heparin.
The unit offers a modified self-scheduling process.Schedules are posted three weeks in advance, allowing flexibility for trades.
