Description:The role requires a Registered Nurse in the PCU setting.Shift hours are 3x12s from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.Charting will be done using the EPIC system.Weekend requirements may include every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block.Requests for time off must be included with the submission.The facility reserves the right to call off one shift per two weeks.The nurse must work one holiday during the 13-week contract period.First-time travelers are accepted.Local candidates may be considered based on radius criteria.Candidates may be submitted with a pending license if they hold a single-state license from a non-compact state.
Candidates must possess skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.The nurse will perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care.Medication administration and management of cardiac drips (no titration) are also required.The nurse will provide respiratory support including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management.Isolation precautions must be observed.
The patient population consists of adult patients with neurological conditions.Care includes neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, and neuro-specific diagnoses with medical overflow.The unit includes 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring.Travelers will be required to float to units within their clinical skillset as needed.
