Description:The unit profile includes 29 beds with ideally a patient ratio of 1:4, currently running at 1:5.Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians.Type of equipment utilized includes Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, bladder scans, and vein finders.The documentation system employed is Meditech.Staff is required to work 36 hours per week, with a floating policy that allows staff to float to areas of their competencies.Patient experience requires providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.Mandatory documentation includes vital signs every 4 hours, with increased frequency based on patient condition, and blood glucose checks as ordered.Required assessment and documentation occur every shift.The dress code requires royal blue scrubs, with no artificial or gel nails.Staff in the unit are noted for their cohesive teamwork and collaboration.Self-scheduling is offered, accommodating preferences, particularly for those who prefer consecutive night shifts.The facility is well-regarded for its supportive culture and managerial backing.The surrounding community offers rich history and attractions, including concerts, markets, and a notable annual golfing event.
