Job summary

The Registered Nurse will work in the Progressive Care Unit on a 13-week Night shift; 12-hour shifts with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio. The role involves floating between units and departments as needed and may include Charge RN responsibilities.

Experience with diverse diagnoses such as sepsis, stroke, AFIB, and COVID is required. Current state or compact RN license, BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; ACLS is preferred.

  • Active RN license in-state or compact license required.
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred.
  • Flexibility to float to various departments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
  • Float to multiple departments as staffing requires.
  • Possible Charge RN duties as assigned.
  • Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias.
  • Care for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, stroke, AFIB, and COVID.

Hours per Shift: 12 hours


Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience required


License: Current state or compact nursing license required


Certifications: BLS, NIHSS


Must-Have: ACLS preferred


Description:The Registered Nurse will work in the Progressive Care Unit.


Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5.


Experience in multiple patient diagnoses such as sepsis, wound care, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID is required.


The clinician may float to various departments as needed.


This position is part of a float pool and does not have a designated home unit.


Weekend shifts of a minimum of 8 are required every six weeks, including a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.


Charge RN assignments may be required as needed.


Key skills include cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care.


Additional skills preferred include sheath removal, IV therapy, and feeding tube care and management.


Floating between units and facilities may take place to meet patient care needs.


The role does not require on-call duty but requires flexibility to meet staffing needs.


Compliance with all required certifications and training is expected upon employment.
