Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an experienced RN to join the Progressive Care Unit on a 13‑week assignment in Charleston, SC. Shifts run from 07:00 to 19:00, 12 hours each, with expected weekend and holiday rotation per facility policy.

The unit comprises 27 beds with 1:4–1:5 patient ratios and uses Meditech for documentation. You will care for 4–5 PCU patients and support post‑cardiac procedures (PCI, PPM, ICD), while managing telemetry and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for 4-5 progressive care patients on PCU.
• Support post-cardiac procedures (PCI, PPM, ICD).
• Manage patients with tracheostomies and chest tubes.
• Read telemetry strips and monitor patient status.
• Coordinate care with physicians and ancillary staff.

• Strong time management skills, including care planning and discharge planning
• Collaboration skills with physicians and ancillary departments

Description:Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy.Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with facility staff.The unit comprises 27 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5.Staffing includes 2-3 patient care technicians and 1 unit secretary.Utilizes a Meditech documentation system.Nurses may float to ICU for downgrade patients and support ER holding for patients awaiting beds.Bedside shift report is utilized for patient handoff.Advanced skills include phlebotomy, administering respiratory treatments outside of ICU, and Foley catheter care and maintenance with nurse-driven protocols for removal.The unit performs telemetry monitoring of post-ICU patients.This role emphasizes teamwork and offers a supportive management environment.The location offers a range of cultural and recreational activities, including museums, historical sites, and outdoor adventures.Staff members report a strong work-life balance and a focus on professional development within the facility.
