Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Methodist Healthcare system seeks an RN Patient Placement Coordinator to manage bed assignments and patient flow across the system. The role coordinates with physicians, admitting staff, and nursing teams to prioritize bed availability and coordinate transfers.

Candidates should be graduates of an accredited nursing program and hold a Texas RN license with a minimum of three years in direct patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree nursing program.
• RN license to practice in Texas.
• Minimum three years of prior RN direct patient care experience.
• Ongoing training and competencies defined by service line/facility/department.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow and assign beds across the Methodist Healthcare System.
• Monitor bed demand and availability from reservations, walk-ins, transfers, or ED admissions.
• Coordinate transfer admissions with physicians and office staff; authorize admissions.
• Collaborate with Nursing Administrators, Admitting Departments, Clerical Staff and Nursing Units; participate in capacity management and triage.
