Job summary

WellSpan York Hospital is seeking a Nursing Coordinator to oversee patient flow and bed management across the hospital. The role requires coordinating with physicians and clinical staff to ensure timely placement based on acuity and diagnosis, and to facilitate admissions and transfers.

The candidate should have an Associates Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), 2 years of relevant experience, and RN licensure. Supervisory experience is a plus. Evening shift with differential pay is available.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree In Nursing is required.
• BSN preferred.
• 2 years of relevant nursing experience required.
• 5 years clinical nursing in a high-paced acute care environment preferred.
• Supervisory/charge experience considered essential.
• RN license upon hire or multi-state RN license required.
• Typing and moderate computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides 24/7 patient flow coordination and optimization with physicians, providers, and clinical staff to ensure timely patient placement based on care needs.
• Communicates effectively across the hospital/health system to improve patient flow during elevated capacity.
• Prioritizes and uses guidelines to predict and manage patient flow based on diagnosis and acuity.
• Coordinates admissions and transfers, including arranging transportation for smooth transitions.
• Judges care delivery needs and resources to assess unit placement and available clinical resources.
