Job summary

Methodist Health System in Dallas seeks a Patient Placement and Transfer Coordinator RN to facilitate transfers within the PPTC. The role focuses on coordinating access for physicians and consumers to Methodist Health System facilities, using established criteria and quality initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN or ADN with waiver, 3+ years healthcare experience (2+ years in acute care preferred), and an active Texas RN license.

Qualifications

• BSN required; waiver may be granted for ADN with experience and Director Approval.
• 3+ years healthcare experience; minimum 2 years acute hospital experience; adult Critical Care and House Supervisor preferred.
• Current TX RN license to practice professional nursing.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day PPTC calls and coordinates patient placement and transfer with physicians, RNs, and other departments while complying with state and federal regulations (COBRA/EMTALA).
• Ensures PPTC calls are processed per standards and protocols; identifies and reports quality issues to support Medical Staff QA.
• Matches patient needs and system resources to optimize service value for patients, referrals, and facilities.
• Provides follow-up calls and communications to internal and external customers to ensure stakeholders' needs are met.
• Ensures compliance with PPTC workflow standards for receipt, tracking, documentation, and timelines.
• Reports trends in PPTC workflows to management and identifies opportunities for improvement.
