UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced RN leader to oversee the Center for Patient Flow, guiding shift operations and ensuring equitable resource allocation for patient placement. The role requires clinical expertise and collaboration with physicians, NRC, and nursing leadership to maintain timely, safe patient flow.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing (or an Associate’s with 5+ years) and is licensed as an RN in Alabama, with BLS (ACLS/PALS may be required).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 3 years of related experience, or an Associate's degree with 5 years.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations of the Center for Patient Flow and ensure fair staff assignments and resource allocation.
• Provide clinical resource for the department and collaborate with physicians, NRC, RNs and nurse managers to ensure timely placement of patients.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, review documentation, identify vulnerabilities, and develop corrective action plans.
• Represent the department on committees and assigned projects.
