Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a part-time Center for Patient Flow RN to oversee daily shift operations, staff assignments, and fair resource allocation, collaborating with physicians and nurses to ensure timely, safe patient placement.

Responsibilities include compliance with regulatory requirements, documentation review, monitoring for vulnerabilities, participating in committees, and driving corrective action plans; ACLS/PALS may be required, BLS certification required or obtained

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and three years of related experience or an Associate's degree in Nursing with five years of related experience.
• Current RN license by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations of the Center for Patient Flow.
• Ensure staff assignments are appropriate and resources allocated fairly.
• Provide oversight of patient flow activities including transfer center and bed assignment process.
• Collaborate with physicians, NRC, unit charge RNs and nurse managers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to ensure timely and clinically sound placement of all patients.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, reviewing documentation, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing corrective actions.
• Represent the department through participation in committees and assigned projects.
