Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a part-time Night shift nurse supervisor to oversee the Center for Patient Flow, ensuring safe patient placement, staff allocation, and regulatory compliance. The role collaborates with physicians, NRC, charge RNs, and managers across departments.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Nursing, active RN license in Alabama, and BLS certification with ACLS/PALS potentially required by the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an Associate's degree with required years of nursing experience.
• Current RN license or eligibility in Alabama.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shift operations of the Center for Patient Flow.
• Ensure staff assignments are appropriate and resources allocated fairly.
• Oversee transfer center and bed assignment processes; intervene in complex situations.
• Serve as a clinical resource, collaborating with physicians, NRC, unit charge RNs and managers.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and drive corrective actions.
• Represent the department in committees and projects.
