Job summary

MedStar Health seeks a Professional Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care from admission through discharge. You will work with patients and families, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, and apply evidence-based practices to ensure quality and safety.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in Nursing, BSN preferred, 1–2 years RN experience, and state licensure.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in state or multi-state compact required.
• CPR certification required; BLS/NRP per policy.
• C-EFM certification within 12 months for Perinatal nurses.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with patient and family to provide theory-based professional nursing care.
• Coordinate care delivery with interdisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes.
• Identify and address patient safety, ethical concerns, and care needs.
• Lead discharge planning and education using diverse teaching resources.
• Adhere to department policies, safety standards and MedStar SPIRIT Values.
