Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care with a team. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care using the nursing process, coordinate with the care team, and educate patients and families.

The role requires competency with technology, medication administration, and unit equipment; you will participate in huddles and bedside reporting and uphold evidence‑based policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing with active Louisiana RN license or compact state license.
• BLS-CPR certification and ability to read, write and speak English.
• Competent use of technology, computers, and nursing equipment.
• Ability to analyze problems, communicate effectively with superiors and peers.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Provide hands‑on care and participate in the multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team from admit to discharge.
• Follow evidence‑based policies and bedside reporting, huddles, and Service Excellence principles.
• Educate patients and families; document appropriately per policy.
• Interpret physician orders and perform routine procedures competently.
• Organize unit activities and delegate tasks to staff as appropriate.
• Evaluate ethical challenges and respond to cultural variables in care.
• Contribute to Unit PI plan and suggest improvements for operations.
