Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care within a collaborative team environment.

The RN will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, make sound clinical decisions, educate patients and families, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure high-quality outcomes for each patient.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or compact state license.
• BLS-CPR Certified.
• Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English; Ability to communicate effectively with superiors, peers, and others one-to-one.
• Requires emotional stability, resilience and adaptability to change.

Responsibilities

• Possesses competency in use of technology and computers.
• Demonstrates competency in the use of Smart Pumps.
• Demonstrates competency in administering medication.
• Manages unit-specific equipment and supplies effectively.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in planning and organizing patient care from admit to discharge.
• Participates in multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Follows evidence-based policies and procedures to guide nursing practice.
