Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team. The RN will assess patients, educate families, develop and implement care plans, and coordinate and delegate duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or compact state license as Registered Nurse.
• BLS-CPR certified.
• 2 years of bedside nursing care, preferred but not required.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Organizes patient care and unit activities with delegation to staff as appropriate.
• Facilitates patient flow and collaborates with admissions points.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in planning and organizing patient care.
• Communicates effectively with Director to maintain efficient patient flow and monitor staff performance.
• Acts as designated charge nurse on the unit daily.
• Assists in leadership of unit in absence of Director.
• Accepts direct care assignments according to staffing needs.
• Uses nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments and documents appropriately.
• Demonstrates competency in administering medication and educating patients/families.
• Interprets and implements physician orders.
• Directs and coordinates nursing care and delegates activities by patient needs.
• Understands LSBN Rules of Delegation and staff competency.
• Makes patient assignments and coordinates staffing.
• Evaluates and supervises nursing process as basis for patient care.
