Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking an Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care, collaborate with physicians, and develop patient care plans. The RN will supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced unit.

The role requires a Louisiana RN license or compact state license, nursing education, and 2 years of bedside experience (preferred).

Qualifications

Graduate of School of Nursing.
Current Louisiana RN license or compact state license as Registered Nurse.
2 years of bedside nursing care, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Organizes patient care and unit activities with delegation to staff as appropriate.
Facilitates patient flow and coordinates admissions within the unit.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in planning patient care.
Communicates with Director to maintain efficient patient flow and monitor staff performance.
Serves as designated charge nurse on the unit daily.
Assist in leadership of unit in Director's absence.
Accepts direct care assignments according to staffing needs.
Uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate care.
Performs initial assessments and documentation.
Demonstrates competency in administering medications.
Educates patients and families and documents appropriately.
