Job summary

Memorial Health System (Ohio) seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care in a high-quality hospital setting in Marietta, Ohio. You will lead patient teaching, document care in Meditech, and work a 12-Hour Day Shift in the Nursing department.

Responsibilities include bedside handoffs, hourly rounding, assessments, discharge planning, care coordination, and collaboration with physicians and team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in the State of Ohio or WV license if working there.
• BLS and annual stroke education certification required upon hire.
• ACLS, PALS and TNCC required within 1 year of employment.
• ASLS certification preferred upon hire.
• Stroke Education is required during orientation, including NIHSS and ASLS & T-PA administration.
• Maintains compliance in RQI.

Responsibilities

• Participates in bedside shift report/handoff.
• Performs hourly rounding.
• Obtains required patient assessments and reassessments per nursing policy.
• Coordinates discharge teaching for patient/family and documents.
• Implements and monitors nursing interventions.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Meditech within required timeframe.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounding and collaborates with team.
• Communicates patient condition changes to physicians via SBAR.
• Manages patient care and delegates appropriately.
• Uses effective interpersonal communication with the team.
• Maintains a positive, caring relationship with trust and respect.
• Establishes a therapeutic relationship with patient/family and self.
• Promotes a positive patient experience.
• Seeks help from appropriate resources as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of hospital policies and scope of practice.
• Clarifies unclear communication between team members.
• Uses proper channels of authority for information.
• Demonstrates ability to triage patients and maintain competency.
• Collects data on physical, psychological and psychosocial health.
• Develops and revises care/teaching plans based on needs.
• Performs admission, handoff, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Coordinates with physician’s plan of care and discharge needs.
• Uses AIDET with all patient interactions.
• Assumes other duties as necessary.
