Texas Health Plano seeks a Patient Advocate, Registered Nurse to join the Quality team. The RN works to receive, research, and resolve patient complaints, ensuring CMS compliance and policy alignment. Strong communication, clinical judgment, and collaboration with departments are essential.

The role emphasizes patient experience, risk awareness, and independent problem solving within a surgical-focused hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from accredited program.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CLIAFE foreign education equivalency compliance required.
• 3 years hospital acute care experience required.
• Risk or Quality experience preferred.
• Strong professional writing skills.
• RN license upon hire required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong organization and service focus.
• Quantitative and computer skills including word processing, Survey Monkey, and database software; presentation and training experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive complaints/grievances from patients or their representatives via phone, letter, or in person.
• Review, research and evaluate complaints per CMS guidelines and hospital policy.
• Prioritize concerns in complex issues.
• Oversee referral, investigation and resolution of complaints with involved departments.
• Maintain CMS Conditions of Participation and hospital policy compliance.
• Respond to government or regulatory complaints as needed.
• Serve as grievance coordinator for the entity.
• Facilitate grievance committee and annual CMS reporting.
