Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a registered nurse to contribute across units within the designated service area. You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum.

The role emphasizes safety, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with the care team. Requires BLS and an RN license with compact/multi-state privileges; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice where RN provides services; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care; engages patients and families across the continuum.
• Monitors patient conditions; adjusts care plans; collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates outcomes and takes appropriate actions.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution; delegates appropriately.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision-making; respects interdisciplinary roles.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area when needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific care needs and related department policies.
