Job summary

Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers of Texas is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care in the surgical environment, including pre- and postoperative settings. You will monitor patients, assist with airway management, and support the surgeon and anesthesiologist while upholding patient privacy and comfort.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, an RN license in Colorado, and ACLS or ability to obtain within 90 days. BCLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the state specified by the ad (Colorado).
• ACLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients.
• Monitor patients’ physiological status in pre-/postoperative settings.
• Assist with PRE-OP/PACU equipment and inventory.
• Coordinate patient care and educate patients and families as needed.
• Communicate with the surgical team and anesthesia regarding patient conditions.

What you will do…

• Provide direct care to patient.
• Address the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Assist with the maintenance of PRE-OP/PACU equipment and inventory.
• Responsible for monitoring patient’s physiological status in the immediate, pre/postoperative environment.
• Communicate with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously, and as needed, about patient conditions.
• Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis.
• Demonstrate knowledge of airway management and procedures and the ability to use the equipment.
• Carry out medical/surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures.
• Coordinate patient care: gives explanations and educates patient/family, as necessary.
• Protect patient’s sensitivities and right to privacy.

What we require…

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado
• Current ACLS certification or ability to get within the first 90 days of employment
• Current BCLS certification preferred
