Job summary

Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kingsland is seeking a motivated PRN RN PACU to join our team. Our ASC environment is fast-paced and dedicated to delivering high-quality care for patients and families.

Under direct supervision, the PACU nurse will implement physician orders, monitor patient status, ensure safety and comfort, and assist with conscious sedation and sterile technique when appropriate. Monday to Friday schedule; two Saturdays per month; no call; off most holidays.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing with PACU or perioperative experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ASC environment.
• Flexibility to work two Saturdays per month.
• Availability for a Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive postoperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes.
• Support physicians in procedure rooms as needed and ensure safety and comfort of patients.

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.

Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.

Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
