Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU at Mercy St. Louis. You will apply the nursing process to deliver patient care, collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

Strong critical care skills, ventilator and line management, and BLS certification are essential. This is a full-time role with 3x12 shifts, designed to support a mission-driven team dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through American Heart Association.
• Graduate from an accredited RN program and active RN license.
• ICU/CCU or PACU experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for care for assigned patients.

Position Details: Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital St. Louis PACU. Now Hiring - Full time. 1100-2330 3 x 12 hours shifts per week.

PACU RN | Mercy St. Louis

The PACU at Mercy St. Louis is a Phase I recovery unit caring for patients after surgery or procedures requiring general anesthesia. Nurses work closely with the anesthesia team and care for patients ranging from routine post-op recoveries to critically ill ICU-level patients.

Strong critical care skills are essential, including experience with ventilators, airway management, vasoactive drips, chest tubes, drains, central lines, and arterial lines. The unit supports a variety of surgical specialties, including ENT, General Surgery, GU, GYN, Bariatrics, and Pediatrics.

PACU nurses care for both adult and pediatric patients, participate in weekend and holiday call, and work in a highly collaborative, self-covered team environment. ICU, ED, Critical Care, or PACU experience is strongly preferred.
