Job summary

Mercy St. Louis PACU seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Phase I recovery unit, providing post-anesthesia care and collaborating with anesthesia. You will monitor ventilation, airway status, and PACU-specific needs, delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Full-time position with 3x12-hour shifts (1100–2330). BLS and an active RN license are required, with ICU/PACU experience preferred. Mercy offers strong benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited RN program and hold an active RN license.
• Strong critical care skills with experience in ventilators, airway management, vasoactive drips, chest tubes, drains, central lines, and arterial lines.
• Experience in PACU or ICU settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care in the PACU.
• Coordinates patient care with anesthesia and other departments.
• Supports patient rights and confidentiality while upholding Mercy standards.

Position Details: Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital St. Louis PACU. Now Hiring - Full time. 1100-2330 3 x 12 hours shifts per week.

PACU RN | Mercy St. Louis

The PACU at Mercy St. Louis is a Phase I recovery unit caring for patients after surgery or procedures requiring general anesthesia. Nurses work closely with the anesthesia team and care for patients ranging from routine post-op recoveries to critically ill ICU-level patients.

Strong critical care skills are essential, including experience with ventilators, airway management, vasoactive drips, chest tubes, drains, central lines, and arterial lines. The unit supports a variety of surgical specialties, including ENT, General Surgery, GU, GYN, Bariatrics, and Pediatrics.

PACU nurses care for both adult and pediatric patients, participate in weekend and holiday call, and work in a highly collaborative, self-covered team environment. ICU, ED, Critical Care, or PACU experience is strongly preferred.
