Description:Join a busy Pre-Op and PACU/Recovery Unit.You will work three 12-hour night shifts from Friday to Sunday.All nurses are trained to work in both pre-operative and post-anesthesia care.You must have experience caring for patients in both pre-op and PACU settings.The patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.The average daily census is between 35 to 50 patients.You will primarily work in either Pre-Op or PACU based on scheduling.Call is required for all staff with a 30-minute callback policy on weekdays and weekends.The unit is supported with techs during the day.Travelers may be floated to outpatient surgery or same-day surgery centers, though this happens rarely.The unit handles a busy robotic program, along with various surgical specialties.All surgical patients are seen by the pre-op RN.Required skills include starting IVs, airway assessment, and straight urinary catheterization for both genders.You will manage pain assessment and administration of medications while adhering to protocols.The unit caters to various special procedures, including bariatrics, cardiothoracic, general surgery, and more.Staffing ratios are maintained at two patients per nurse.You will engage in interdisciplinary support and work in a team-oriented environment.The workload includes handling both pre-operative and post-operative care efficiently.You should demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment and post-operative recovery management.
