Able to care for pediatric patients (average 5 to 15 children per day)Able to manage high acuity patientsAcute/hospital experience is mandatory; outpatient surgery center experience is not a match2 years of minimum PACU experienceExperience in large hospitals (250+ beds)

Description:The unit cares for all surgical specialties, including adult and pediatric patients.The unit handles patients post-procedure from ICU, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, and Interventional Radiology.Equipment utilized includes Epic charting, AcuDose Medication Dispensing, Philips monitors, ventilators, and BiPap.Critical care experience is preferred.Nurse to patient ratio follows ASPAN standards (1:1 or 2:1).The dress code consists of hospital-provided scrubs.Basic hospital/unit orientation is provided along with a Buddy RN on the unit.Flexibility for floating to other units may be necessary.The unit features an 18-bay Phase I PACU and a 14-bay Phase I PACU, both managed by the same staff.Candidates may be required to work varied weekend rotations and occasional nights, with backup call in rotation.
