Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Kingsland is seeking a motivated PRN RN PACU to join our team in a fast-paced ASC environment. This role emphasizes immediate postoperative care and patient safety with a focus on high-quality outcomes.

Under supervision, the PACU nurse implements physician orders, provides continuous nursing care, and assists during procedures with conscious sedation and sterile technique as appropriate. Off most holidays and no call required.

Responsibilities

• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
• Monitor patient condition, ensure safety, comfort, and privacy throughout the perioperative period.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile technique as deemed appropriate.

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate.

Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.

Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
