Job summary

Mercy St. Louis is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to join the Phase I recovery unit. This full-time role covers 3 x 12-hour shifts, with responsibilities including post-anesthesia care, collaboration with the anesthesia team, and care of adult and pediatric patients after surgery.

Qualifications

• BLS certification through American Heart Association.
• Graduate from an accredited RN program and active RN license.
• ICU, ED, Critical Care, or PACU experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the PACU consistent with anesthesia recovery.
• Collaborate with anesthesia team to ensure safe post-operative care.
• Care for adult and pediatric post-operative patients across a range of surgeries.
• Participate in weekend and holiday call as required.

Position Details: Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital St. Louis PACU. Now Hiring - Full time. 1100-2330 3 x 12 hours shifts per week.

PACU RN | Mercy St. Louis

The PACU at Mercy St. Louis is a Phase I recovery unit caring for patients after surgery or procedures requiring general anesthesia. Nurses work closely with the anesthesia team and care for patients ranging from routine post-op recoveries to critically ill ICU-level patients.

Strong critical care skills are essential, including experience with ventilators, airway management, vasoactive drips, chest tubes, drains, central lines, and arterial lines. The unit supports a variety of surgical specialties, including ENT, General Surgery, GU, GYN, Bariatrics, and Pediatrics.

PACU nurses care for both adult and pediatric patients, participate in weekend and holiday call, and work in a highly collaborative, self-covered team environment. ICU, ED, Critical Care, or PACU experience is strongly preferred.
