Mercy St. Louis is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU. This full-time role supports post-operative patients, collaborates with anesthesia, and provides high-level critical care

The PACU team cares for adults and pediatrics, with experience in ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, and other critical care skills highly valued. Benefits start day one and the unit emphasizes teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited RN program and active RN license.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.
• ICU/PACU experience preferred and strong critical care skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintains professional accountability.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information and participates in weekend/holiday call.
• Works in a collaborative PACU environment with multidisciplinary teams.

Position Details: Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital St. Louis PACU. Now Hiring - Full time. 1100-2330 3 x 12 hours shifts per week.

PACU RN | Mercy St. Louis

The PACU at Mercy St. Louis is a Phase I recovery unit caring for patients after surgery or procedures requiring general anesthesia. Nurses work closely with the anesthesia team and care for patients ranging from routine post-op recoveries to critically ill ICU-level patients.

Strong critical care skills are essential, including experience with ventilators, airway management, vasoactive drips, chest tubes, drains, central lines, and arterial lines. The unit supports a variety of surgical specialties, including ENT, General Surgery, GU, GYN, Bariatrics, and Pediatrics.

PACU nurses care for both adult and pediatric patients, participate in weekend and holiday call, and work in a highly collaborative, self-covered team environment. ICU, ED, Critical Care, or PACU experience is strongly preferred.
