Job summary

The Registered Nurse on the 4D Ortho/Neuro unit provides specialized post-surgical and medical care in a 26-bed unit recognized for exceptional teamwork, accountability, and high-energy patient care. Utilizing a person-centered approach, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver outstanding clinical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and eligible to obtain a New York State limited permit.
• Current New York State RN license or eligibility for licensure.
• Must obtain BLS, ACLS and Stroke certifications before completion of the introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and prioritize both expected and unanticipated patient needs.
• Provide specialized post-surgical and medical nursing care using strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, maintain compliant clinical documentation, and proactively address actual and potential problems.
• Educate patients and families while serving as a resource for department standards and patient care practices.
