Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina is seeking an Administrative RN OR Scheduler. You will coordinate daily operating room scheduling with the perioperative team to optimize efficiency, safety, and patient flow, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia leadership and support staff. This day-shift role is Mon-Fri, 7:30 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m. (or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), on-site for the first six months with potential for hybrid or remote work after.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN program is required.
• Registered nurses hired after July 1, 2014 without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within five years.
• Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN to remain in this classification.
• BLS (or higher) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily OR scheduling with the perioperative team to maximize efficiency and patient safety.
• Lead scheduling meetings with stakeholders and influence operational excellence.
• Review OR case requests for provider, location, procedure date, codes, and surgeon privileging.
• Orient new hires to the department and provide mentorship as needed.
• Run reports and analyze scheduling data to optimize execution.
