Job summary

Duke University Health System seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse to uphold our mission of Transforming Lives Transforming Care. The RN will provide and supervise nursing care, following the nursing process, in a dedicated surgical setting.

The role requires OR experience and NC nursing licensure with active BLS. The schedule comprises five 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, call, or holidays, in the Duke Regional Hospital Davis Ambulatory Surgery Center environment.

Qualifications

• Previous OR work experience (1+ years) as a clinical nurse.
• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care in a patient-centered setting.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Participate in committees, research projects or other health-related activities as assigned.
