Responsibilities

• Schedule OR events and analyze the daily schedule to maximize efficiency and productivity.
• Conduct chart reviews to verify critical elements including provider, location, date, patient class, consent wording, ICD & CPT codes, laterality, positioning, anesthesia type, case classification, diagnosis codes, pre-op visits, and surgeon privileging.
• Lead scheduling meetings with key stakeholders and team members to drive operational excellence.

General Description Of The Job Class

The RN OR Scheduler works closely with the Perioperative team (including, but not limited to, OR team members and leadership, Anesthesia leadership, and other Support Services) to coordinate daily OR scheduling. The position assists with managing and building the OR schedule while collaborating with surgeon offices and nurse leaders to optimize the OR schedule for efficient and safe patient flow.

Shift: PRN; One or Two Day shifts per week, Monday-Friday 8a-4:30pm. No holidays or weekends.

On-Site position & requires in-person attendance

Duties And Responsibilities Of This Level

• Completion of the first step of Universal Protocol.
• Scheduling OR events and consistently analyzing schedule to maximize efficiency and productivity.
• Utilizing chart reviews to verify critical elements including but not limited to: provider, location, procedure date, patient class, Case Consent Wording, ICD & CPT, laterality, positioning, anesthesia type, case classification, diagnosis codes, pre-op visit completion, and surgeon privileging confirmation.
• Leading scheduling meetings to collaborate with key stakeholders and team members and influence operational excellence.
