Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC is seeking an RN OR Scheduler to coordinate daily operating room scheduling with the Perioperative team. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia leadership, and support staff to optimize the schedule for safe patient flow.

This on-site role is Day shift, with first 6 months on-site, then potential hybrid or remote. Requires BSN, NC RN license, 2+ years OR experience, and BLS. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential to uphold patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
• Current NC RN license or NC compact licensure to practice as an RN.
• 2+ years operating room experience preferred.
• BLS (or higher) certification required.
• Knowledge of OR scheduling processes and patient safety.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily OR scheduling with the perioperative team.
• Analyze schedule to maximize efficiency and patient flow.
• Lead scheduling meetings with surgeons, anesthesia leadership and staff.
• Orient new hires to the department.
• Run reports and perform data analysis to improve schedule execution.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory requirements.
