Job summary

Haverhill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an RN or LPN Night Shift Supervisor for the 11:00 PM–7:00 AM shift. You will oversee nursing staff, administer medications, and ensure resident safety and quality care.

Lead the team, train staff, and collaborate with the Care Plan Coordinator to maintain up-to-date nursing plans. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Current MA RN or LPN license.
• 1 year of RN/LPN supervisor experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Department Head to train staff and maintain skill levels.
• Lead Nursing Supervisor for staff on process, supply, and team needs, diffusing difficult situations.
• Model compliance with facility policies and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician's orders.
• Transcribe, document, and implement physician's orders.
• Collect data to assist nursing assessments during each shift.
• Give daily shift reports to CNAs before shift start.
• Review daily assignments for residents on the unit.
• Ensure assignments are completed before shift end.
• Give and take nursing reports on assigned units.
• Make rounds on residents at least every two hours.
• Collaborate with Care Plan Coordinator to develop and update nursing care plans.
• Attend interdisciplinary resident care conferences.
• Assist attending physician with rounds and procedures.
• Participate in yearly evaluations of nursing assistants and document performance.
• Assist Staff Development with orientation and training.
• Document disciplinary concerns for nursing staff on shifts.
• Notify supervisor/resident's physician and family of changes/incidents.
• Assist with other duties as needed by RN Supervisor/ADNS.
• Attend meetings as required by Supervisor/Administrator/Director

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Department Head to train department staff (new and current) to maintain skill levels and compliance with evolving mandates

• Lead Nursing Supervisor for department staff on process, supply, and team-related needs, including tactfully diffusing difficult situations

• Role model for the department by promoting compliance with facility policies and procedures

• Administer medication and treatments according to physician's orders

• Transcribe, document, and implement physician's orders

• Collect data to assist in nursing assessments during each shift

• Give daily shift reports to CNAs assigned to the unit before the start of the shift

• Review written daily assignments for each resident on the assigned unit

• Assure assignments are completed before the end of the shift

• Give and take nursing reports on assigned units, communicating essential information to appropriate parties

• Make rounds on assigned residents at least once every two hours

• Collaborate with the Care Plan Coordinator to develop and maintain nursing care plans and update these plans regularly and as the resident's condition changes

• Attend and participate in interdisciplinary resident care conferences as requested

• Assist the attending physician with rounds and special procedures as needed

• Participate in the yearly written evaluations of nursing assistants and document accurately their strengths, weaknesses, and the steps that need to be taken to improve their performance

• Assist Staff Development with orientation and on-the-job training for new nursing personnel as needed

• Collaborate with the nursing supervisor in documenting disciplinary concerns for nursing assistants on designated shifts, including reprimands, oral and written warnings, and corrective action recommendations

• Notify the nursing supervisor, resident's physician, and family of a change in the resident's condition or an accident/incident involving the resident

• Assume any duties assigned by the RN Supervisor/ADNS to provide optimal quality resident care

• Perform other related duties and attend meetings as may be deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Administrator and/or Director

Requirements:

• Current RN or LPN license in MA

• 1 year of experience as an RN or LPN Supervisor

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures

• Ability to lift and move residents as needed
