Job summary

Watson Clinic LLP in Lakeland, FL is seeking a scrub nurse with OR experience for a full-time position. You will assist surgeons, prepare sterile instruments, and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures, while supporting nursing duties across the operating room and related areas.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, current CPR/ACLS, and at least 1 year in the OR. A CNOR is preferred. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available after probationary period.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing.
• Active Florida RN license.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in the Operating Room (O.R.).
• Current CPR and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with draping and provide sterile instruments during procedures.
• Prepare and arrange instruments and supplies; ensure sterile field is maintained.
• Record vital signs and administer medications as ordered during sedation cases.
• Assist with post-op calls and document responses.
• Support nursing functions in other clinical areas as needed.

$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE

Sign on bonus will be paid in full after passing probationary period.

Two (2) years commitment is required. NEW EMPLOYEES ONLY.

Essential Functions

• If RN has scrubbing experience, they may participate in the following activities: assist with draping the patient, arranges instruments and supplies in a convenient manner, opens and prepares sutures, assists the surgeon throughout the operation by providing sterile instruments and supplies they require to perform the procedure, assures a sterile field is maintained in and around the operating site during the procedure.
• Makes available additional instruments and supplies as requested during the operation. Records vital signs and gives medications as ordered by physician or anesthesia personnel, during local sedation cases. Counts sponges and needles that may be required by surgical case/procedure. Assists in transferring patient to PACU. Assures that supplies for each case are ready for use. Assists in cleaning of room after a case.
• Assists with post-op call to patient and documents call and patient’s responses on patient’s record. Takes inventory and restocks supplies as needed in O.R. Updates Physicians’ cards as needed. Performs functions in the instrument processing system. Assists with nursing functions in other clinical areas.
• Performs other duties as deemed unnecessary.
• As scrub nurse: Shares responsibility with the Circulating Nurse for ensuring that supplies for each case have been collected and readied for the day’s schedule. Dusts all lights and flat surfaces of room prior to first case in A.M.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills. Complies with safety and emergency procedures consistent with Center policy. Complies with all Center policies. Participates in unit cost containment measures. Performs other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing. Active Florida RN license. Minimum of One (1) year experience in O.R. Current CPR, ACLS certification.

Preferred Education and Experience: CNOR preferred.
