Job summary

Hollywood ASC in Florida seeks an experienced RN Circulator for Ambulatory Surgery Center duties. You will prepare instruments, assist the surgical team, monitor patients, and document care throughout perioperative procedures.

Required Florida RN license with BSN preferred; BLS/ACLS certifications desired. Two years in OR/ambulatory settings and orthopedic/spine exposure are valued. Competitive benefits apply.

• Administer medications as directed and document care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and care plans.
• Demonstrate proper aseptic technique and case counting.
• Ensure proper turnover and instrument handling.
• Support preoperative communication and documentation.

Job description

Busy Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a a RN Circulator.

Principal Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare the necessary instruments, supplies and equipment for the surgical procedure according to the surgeon's preference card.
• Open sterile supplies with the scrub tech/nurse.
• Check the working order of the room equipment.
• Assesses physiological and psychosocial health status of patient.
• Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Monitor patients during surgery, assessing their condition, vital signs, and anesthesia effectiveness.
• Administer medications and interventions as directed by the surgical team.
• Document all patient information accurately and maintain thorough records.
• Continually adjusts care plan based on patient/family data.
• Demonstrates proper preoperative process - communication/report.
• Demonstrates proper procedure and documentation for surgical case counting.
• Demonstrates proper aseptic technique.
• Demonstrates efficient turnover time.
• Demonstrates proper technique for obtaining blood products.
• Demonstrates proper patient identification verification per policy.
• Demonstrates proper surgical site identification and marking per policy.
• Anticipates surgeon's needs during surgical procedure.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Valid Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
• Specialty certification preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Two years' experience as OR Circulator at Ambulatory Surgical Center.
• Minimum one year ORTHOPEDICS and SPINE experience.

LICENSE/SKILLS

• Thorough knowledge of the Nursing Process.
• Knowledge and experience in Perioperative care of the surgical patient.
• Knowledge of specialized equipment.
• Cost effective in the use of supplies and equipment.

Experience

• outpatient OR: 1 year (Required)
• Ambulatory surgery center: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• RN License (Required)
