Job summary

Watson Clinic LLP is seeking a qualified RN scrub nurse for operating room support in Florida. You will assist with draping, hand sterile instruments, and maintaining a sterile field during procedures. Responsibilities include recording vitals, administering medications as ordered, and assisting in post-op processes.

Required: graduate of an accredited RN program, active Florida RN license, 1 year OR experience, CPR and ACLS. CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing.
• Active Florida RN license.
• Minimum of one year experience in OR.
• Current CPR and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with draping and preparing sterile instruments.
• Maintain sterile field during procedures and hand instruments to surgeon.
• Record vital signs and administer medications as ordered during procedures.
• Transfer patient to PACU and restock supplies as needed.
• Assist in cleaning the room after a case and performing nursing duties in other areas as needed.

$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE

Sign on bonus will be paid in full after passing probationary period. Two (2) years commitment is required. NEW EMPLOYEES ONLY.

Essential Functions

• If RN has scrubbing experience, they may participate in the following activities: assist with draping the patient, arranges instruments and supplies in a convenient manner, opens and prepares sutures, assists the surgeon throughout the operation by providing sterile instruments and supplies they require to perform the procedure, assures a sterile field is maintained in and around the operating site during the procedure.
• Makes available additional instruments and supplies as requested during the operation. Records vital signs and gives medications as ordered by physician or anesthesia personnel, during local sedation cases. Counts sponges and needles that may be required by surgical case/procedure. Assists in transferring patient to PACU. Assures that supplies for each case are ready for use. Assists in cleaning of room after a case.
• Assists with post‑op call to patient and documents call and patient’s responses on patient’s record. Takes inventory and restocks supplies as needed in O.R. Updates Physicians’ cards as needed. Performs functions in the instrument processing system. Assists with nursing functions in other clinical areas.
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
• As scrub nurse: Shares responsibility with the Circulating Nurse for ensuring that supplies for each case have been collected and readied for the day’s schedule. Dusts all lights and flat surfaces of room prior to first case in A.M.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills. Complies with safety and emergency procedures consistent with Center policy. Complies with all Center policies. Participates in unit cost containment measures. Performs other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing. Active Florida RN license. Minimum of One (1) year experience in O.R. Current CPR, ACLS certification.

Preferred Education and Experience: CNOR preferred.
