Job summary

HealthPartners seeks a nurse manager to supervise the daily operation of a designated medical unit, ensuring goals are met through planning, implementing, and directing programs and staff. Applies a systematic nursing process per Nurse Practice Act and Park Nicollet policy.

Requires RN licensure and a nursing degree; one year supervisory experience or three years non-supervisory experience; strong leadership and computer skills essential for success in a busy health care setting.

Qualifications

Must have nursing degree (AD/Diploma/Bachelor) and an active RN license with BLS provider status.
Minimum of one year supervisory experience or three years non-supervisory nursing experience.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to oversee operations and staff.

Responsibilities

Interviews, hires, trains, and disciplines unit staff.
Directs and supervises daily operation of the designated unit.
Develops and implements new services, programs, procedures, systems, and materials for the unit.
Coordinates staff orientation and development programs.
Manages staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
Assists in salary administration planning and budgeting for the unit.
Maintains emergency response readiness and CPR competency.
May perform direct patient care as assigned.
Performs other duties as needed.
