Job summary

Brown Medicine seeks an Operational Support RN, Non-Procedural, reporting to the Nursing Director. This role coordinates resources and provides leadership and support to staff across assigned units.

The RN collaborates with the care team to optimize patient flow, participates in quality improvement programs, and assists with acuity-based staffing. Strong mentoring, teaching, and compliance with CEU requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN, Education, or related field preferred.
• Current RN license in applicable state(s); in good standing.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 6 months nursing experience with leadership skills; 2 years preferred; maintain mandatory skills and stay current.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the health care team to prioritize and manage patient flow; direct nursing care.
• Participates in quality assessment and improvement programs; suggest improvements for unit performance.
• Assist with staffing plans to provide fiscally sound, acuity-based scheduling.
• Mentors, coaches, and motivates staff; collaborate with education teams for learning.
• Co-chair or lead quality initiatives; contribute to policy and standard development.
• Maintain active CEU/Education file and ensure compliance with standards.
