Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is hiring an RN for the Observation Unit (26-bed med-surg). This role involves providing, coordinating and delegating nursing care for patients needing 8 to 48 hours of observation, with a fast-paced environment.

Required ADN or Nursing Diploma, Nebraska or compact-state RN license, and BLS. PALS, ACLS, and TNCC/ATCN certifications may be required by department. Days or nights, full- or part-time.

Qualifications

• ADN or Nursing Diploma required.
• Effective communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork and flexibility required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or compact state.
• BLS certification from an AHA-endorsed program.
• PALS certification required based on department.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire or transfer date.
• TNCC or ATCN within one year or as department requires.

Responsibilities

• RN – Observation Unit: provide, prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care for a designated patient group.
• Care environment may be long-term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional or procedural.
• Day-to-day tasks vary with tailored patient needs.
