Job summary

TriHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit / Clinical Decision Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. This full-time day-shift role involves applying the nursing process, collaborating with the care team, and guiding patients and families through rapid clinical decisions.

The CDU is a 35-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients with inpatient onboarding, orientation, NIHSS/ACLS/BLS training, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• BSN must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Active RN license.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong nursing knowledge across biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient and family assessments; document per TriHealth standards.
• Develop and update individualized plans of care, including both short- and long-term goals.
• Provide safe, therapeutic, culturally sensitive patient care while protecting autonomy and dignity.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency or rapidly evolving clinical situations.
• Complete all assigned patient care and documentation within scheduled timeframes.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families.
• Serve as a resource to staff by sharing specialty knowledge and supporting clinical learning.
