Job summary

Trinity Health's Samaritan Hospital in the Capital Region is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Observation/Clinical Decision Unit on a 12-hour night shift. The 10–12 bed unit supports fast-paced turnover and ED admissions, with potential discharge lounge duties and rapid admission flow when census peaks.

You will collaborate with hospitalists and care managers; deliver and lead nursing care; and tailor plans to patient age and needs.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• ASN required, BSN preferred from an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene and evaluate patient care.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Minimum 1 year of RN acute experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of each patient in the Observation/Clinical Decision Unit.
• Plan and deliver nursing care, including spiritual, emotional and physiological needs.
• Lead or supervise personnel to carry out the plan of care and evaluate outcomes.
• When in charge, perform clinical and leadership functions for patient needs.
• Collaborate with hospitalists and CM/UM as assigned.
