Qualifications

• Education: Completion of accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Must be licensed in Missouri as a Registered Nurse and maintain Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure.
• Experience: Three to five years hospital nursing experience; leadership/management preferred.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS prior to completing orientation.
• Other: Demonstrates skill in human relations and communications; broad understanding of patient care process and clinical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Assists Managers in supervision of nursing unit and department activities.
• Acts as a clinical and administrative resource for staff.
• Represents Administration when they are not present.
• Serves as Patient Placement supervisor with admissions routed through them.
• Monitors ED throughput and adjusts staffing based on census and acuity.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality; adheres to Mercy Service Standards.
