Job summary

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center – Nursing Float Pool in Chicago is seeking a part-time RN for 24 hours per week (7p-7a, two shifts). The role coordinates staffing through the Patient Command Center to ensure safe patient throughput and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include monitoring labor resources, participating in safety huddles, making staffing recommendations, and addressing patient and family needs.

Qualifications

• BSN required. At least four years’ inpatient/acute care nursing experience.
• Nurse, Registered (RN). Specialty certification per hospital requirements. Board Certification strongly encouraged within 2 years.
• Strong clinical skills. Problem solving & analytical ability. Exceptional communication skills. High level of customer service skills. Utilization of critical thinking in timely decision making.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing for safe and efficient patient throughput.
• Oversee operational efficiency and labor resource utilization to meet targets.
• Participate in daily safety and capacity huddles.
• Make staffing recommendations and assignments within policy and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to patient and family needs and address complaints in a timely fashion.
