Job summary

Lovington Healthcare, a respected long-term care facility in Lovington, NM, is seeking an RN leader to build and guide the clinical education department in alignment with Federal, State, and company standards. You will teach resident care principles in classrooms and clinical units, and mentor nursing staff to uphold quality care.

The ideal candidate will have an RN license in New Mexico, an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing, and experience in nursing education.

Qualifications

• RN license in the state practiced.
• Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited nursing school preferred.
• Five years in long-term or acute health care preferred.
• At least 2 years nursing education experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the training needs of nursing staff and develop, implement, evaluate and document staff development programs (General Orientation, Job Specific Orientation, In-Service, Continuing Education).
• Plan, coordinate and conduct in-service programs in compliance with federal, state and local laws and corporate requirements; adjust across all shifts.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to identify ongoing learning needs and develop educational programs to meet those needs.
• Maintain documentation of educational programming and attendee competency; manage annual staff development plan and budget.
• Coordinate job-specific orientation for new hires; act as preceptor and resource for staff.
